This set was done for a client with a nautical flair, thus the compass rose at the center. This set was in American Cherry with Wenge string inlay. The figured cherry top is arranged in a sequentil, bookmatched sunburst pattern. The pedestal base makes this table non expandable and it seats four. The tapered bent lamination leg system is very strong and easily supports a person's weight at the table's edge. One of the nine laminations is Wenge which gently tapers all the way to the foot. The chairs are solid Cherry with the spring backs and a deep seat using the woven rubber straps with an open seat frame. Quality chairs are the most difficult of all furnture disiplines. They must have good design to look pleasing, like all furniture. They must have bullit- proof joinery, to support a large person who may rock back on the rear legs. They must be comfortable,a feature no other piece of furniture must posess.
